On the site of today’s Lloyd’s Factory, there was once a shipyard along with a machine-building plant. Its establishment dates back to 1891, and the plant proudly boasted having the largest amount of production machinery in the area. It was here that Lemar’s barge was built! After the return of Bydgoszcz to the Motherland in 1920, the focus was on production for its own needs and those of local businesses – including the City Gasworks and the new Bydgoszcz Power Plant. Today, Lloyd’s Factory is a community center where we can learn more about the history of the place, and periodically unique trail attractions are organized!
